Factor Rainbows: Find the Greatest Common Factor

Identify the greatest common factor of two numbers with this colorful sixth-grade worksheet! Learners will start by listing the factors of the two numbers in each group. Then, they will circle the greatest common factor in each pair. The layers of each rainbow are a hint to students about how many factor pairs each number has!

As students identify factor pairs and find the greatest common factor, they can build number sense and sharpen their fluency skills, as each number is within 100. Knowledge of factor pairs can also be helpful as students learn about prime and composite numbers and identify common factors for algebraic expressions.

Keep practicing with Finding the Greatest Common Factor #1 and Greatest Common Factor Maze.
