Find the Helping Verbs #3

Search for different types of verbs in this third-grade grammar worksheet! In this scaffolded practice, learners will first identify the helping and action verbs in 10 different sentences. Then, students are prompted to write their own sentence using the helping verb were in addition to a main verb.

This activity will help third graders learn to identify the purpose and placement of helping verbs. Students will also see how helping verbs can change the tenses of main verbs. Familiarity with different types of verbs can strengthen learners’ reading comprehension and writing abilities.
