Finish the Compound Words: Cut and Paste #2

Build compound words with this cut-and-paste worksheet for first and second graders! Students will begin by cutting out each word and image from the bottom of the page. They will then paste each word or picture into the table to form and illustrate compound words.

This hands-on activity will demonstrate how words can be combined to create a new word with a different meaning. Just like how syllables form words, students can see how words themselves can be used as building blocks, too. Learning compound words can also help strengthen early readers’ spelling abilities and vocabulary.
