Worksheet

Finish the Fraction

Use models to determine the missing numbers in these fractions! Third graders will study the model, then write the missing numerator or denominator to match. There are eight problems in all, focusing on denominators of 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8.

This worksheet will help learners understand that the denominator tells how many equal parts the whole is split into, while the numerator describes how many of those parts are being counted. Knowing the part-whole nature of fractions and recognizing what they represent is fundamental for ordering, comparing, and operating with fractions.
