Follow the Directions: Hundred Chart Subtraction

Forge a path towards subtraction mastery with this hundred chart worksheet! Second graders will start at the provided number, then follow the directions to move a certain number of rows and columns. Once they have reached their ending number, students will write a subtraction equation to reflect the movements they made.

This activity will support students as they learn to subtract on a hundred chart. By writing the equation alongside the instructions, learners will see how moving up a row subtracts 10 and moving left subtracts one. This can reinforce place value concepts and prompt students to take notice of number patterns.
