Worksheet
Fractions With Like Denominators: Plot and Compare #1
Visualize fractions on a number line with this third-grade worksheet! In each problem, students are provided with two fractions and a blank number line. Learners will plot both fractions on the number line, then determine which one is greater. While each fraction pair uses the same denominator, students will get to practice with thirds, fourths, sixths, and eighths.
When placing fractions with like denominators on a number line, students can visualize how the denominator represents equal-sized parts of a whole, while the numerator represents the number of parts being counted. This helps strengthen learners’ understanding of what fractions are and how they relate to both the whole and to other fractions. These concepts will lay the foundation for students to order fractions, compare fractions with unlike denominators, and recognize equivalent fractions.
