Fractions With Like Denominators: Plot and Compare #3

Represent fractions on a number line with this helpful worksheet! To begin, students will plot each pair of fractions on the number line. Then, looking at the number line, learners must determine which fraction is greater. Students will work with thirds, fourths, sixths, and eighths in this activity, though each fraction pair has the same denominator.

This worksheet will help third graders recognize how fractions represent the parts of a whole. When comparing fractions with like denominators, students will realize that the fraction with the larger numerator will have the greater value. This understanding will support students as they compare fractions with unlike denominators and identify equivalency.
