Worksheet
Fractions With Like Numerators: Color and Compare
Have fun with fractions in this colorful modeling worksheet! In each of these six problems, students will be asked to shade the models to show the fractions beneath them. Then they’ll use a greater than, less than, or equals sign to compare the two fractions. In the challenge question, students will describe what they notice about the denominator of the greater fraction in each pair.
This fourth-grade worksheet is a great resource for helping students gain a conceptual understanding of fractions. It can be difficult for learners to understand that fractions with the same numerator can have different values. They can discover on their own that the fraction with the smaller denominator will have the greater value.
