Friendly Letter: Birthday Wishes

Wish someone a happy birthday with this friendly letter template! Students will first complete the header and greeting. Then, learners will send on their well wishes by describing what they hope their friend will get to do on their birthday. Students are also asked to write a compliment and think of a cake they’d like to bake!

This resource will give first and second graders practice writing friendly letters. The sentence stems ensure that students’ thoughts are organized and on-topic, helping them to become stronger writers. Friendly letters can also encourage students to communicate their emotions and connect with friends and family.
