Graph the Frequency: The First 100 Digits of Pi

Graph the frequency of each digit in the first 100 digits of pi in this data and graphing worksheet! Pi is the ratio of the circumference of any circle to the diameter of that circle, and it's also an irrational number. Geared toward fifth- through eighth-grade learners, this one-page math worksheet asks students to determine the frequency of each digit in the first 100 digits of pi by completing a frequency table. Then they will graph the frequency of each digit on a bar graph and use their graph to answer questions about the frequencies of the digits.

Whether used to celebrate Pi Day or for everday practice, this worksheet is a great way to explore pi while practicing sorting, graphing, and interpreting data. For an introduction to this famous irrational number, check out the What Is Pi? handout.
