Gravity Coaster Design Challenge

Create your own gravity-powered roller coaster in this creative worksheet! Students will use the four different track pieces to design a roller coaster for a marble, making sure the high and low ends of the track pieces match up. Then, they will answer questions about the parts of the coasters where gravity would help the marble move fast and the parts where gravity would make it difficult for the marble to keep moving.

This fifth-grade worksheet is a fun activity designed to help students better understand how gravity affects real-life objects. Learners will need to engage their critical thinking and engineering design skills as they determine how they can make use of gravity to keep the marble moving along their coaster track.
