How Do People Use Earth's Resources?

Discover some of the ways that Earth’s natural resources are used in this first-grade worksheet! Water, rocks, and soil are some of Earth’s resources that people regularly use. For each resource, students are shown two situations. Learners must pick the situation that shows use of the highlighted resource. Then, students are prompted to give their own examples of how people use water, rocks, and soil.

This activity is a great way for learners to see how Earth’s resources are used daily. Humans use natural resources for everything we do, which impacts the land and environment around us. By learning about common natural resources, students can have context as they begin to learn about renewable and nonrenewable resources and the other ways humans interact with the Earth.
