How I Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a technique of bringing awareness to your thoughts, feelings, senses, and environment. Practicing mindfulness can help you stay grounded, calm, and accepting when stressors arise. Use this helpful SEL worksheet to introduce mindfulness techniques to your middle school students. Students will learn what it means to practice mindfulness and be introduced to some examples of mindfulness techniques. Then they will use the template to write and illustrate four activities that help them stay present and grounded. Encourage students to refer back to these ideas when they feel scattered, get overwhelmed, or need to reconnect with themselves.
