Human Impact: Fossil Fuels

Students learn all about fossil fuels with this research-based environmental science worksheet! Designed for middle school scientists, this two-page worksheet invites students to conduct research in order to answer several short-answer questions about fossil fuels. Students will use textbooks or online resources to answer eleven questions in which they will define what a fossil fuel is, investigate how burning fossil fuels affects the environment, propose solutions for how to reduce negative impacts on the environment, research and compare the benefits and drawbacks of alternative energy sources, and pose an argument in favor of or opposed to the continued use of fossil fuels.
