Worksheet
Joining Sentences With Coordinating Conjunctions #3
You can continue writing simple sentences, or you can join them using coordinating conjunctions! Learners must join the two simple sentences they are given by using a comma and a coordinating conjunction of their choice. Students will then write out the newly created compound sentence.
Geared toward third, fourth, and fifth graders, this activity demonstrates how students can vary sentence structure. Joining sentences with coordinating conjunctions can reinforce correct comma usage, improve grammar skills, and make for more interesting writing.
