Many of the most common words in English are difficult for children to sound out. Known as sight words, these words are more easily learned through memorization than phonics. Cutting out and taping these sight word "flash cards" around the house where your child will read and interact with them on a daily basis will help your child memorize these important words and become a more confident reader.
