Lab Incident Analysis: Accidents

Analyze accidents in the science lab with this middle-grade worksheet! Students will review three incidents involving spills, burns, and shocks. In response to each incident, learners will write about how the incident could have been prevented and what should be done immediately after the accident.

When accidents do happen in the lab, students must be able to respond quickly and calmly. Discussing potential scenarios can protect students, prevent future incidents, and help create a safe lab experience for everyone. Even minor mishaps can have serious consequences if not handled correctly.

Try Lab Incident Analysis: Chemical Safety and Lab Incident Analysis: Personal Safety Practices for more lab safety resources. Students can also review our Laboratory Safety Contract to ensure a safe lab environment.
