Worksheet
Make It Active! Changing Passive Voice #2
Learn to switch between passive and active voice in this engaging grammar worksheet! Students will first read through an introduction about how passive voice and active voice describe whether the subject performs or receives the action of the sentence. Then, they’ll read the eight passive-voice sentences and rewrite them in the active voice.
This worksheet was designed for seventh and eighth graders working on complex grammar skills. With this practice, students can learn to recognize which voice they are using in their own writing and rephrase as necessary. Active voice tends to improve clarity, so it is important that learners can change passive voice to active voice as they begin to read and write about more complex topics.
