Make It Active! Changing Passive Voice #4

Activate your active and passive voice skills in this middle school grammar worksheet! Students will read a brief introduction that instructs them on how to identify the actor in a passive-voice sentence and rewrite it in the active voice. Then, they will apply their knowledge by reading eight passive-voice sentences and editing them to be active-voice sentences.

Perfect for seventh and eighth graders, this worksheet gives learners an opportunity to practice identifying and rewriting passive-voice sentences. While passive voice has its place in writing, active voice can often improve sentence clarity and directness. Once students are aware of the difference between the passive and active voices, they can learn to use both more intentionally!
