Monitor Comprehension: The Arctic Ocean

Head up to the frigid north in this chilly nonfiction worksheet! Students will first read a short passage about the Arctic Ocean. They’ll write which parts of the passage they may not have understood at first and explain how they figured them out. Then, they’ll answer a series of questions about the main idea, text features, and content of the passage.

This worksheet is perfect for third graders building their nonfiction reading skills. Students will think about how they approached reading the passage and detail their solutions, allowing them to consciously strengthen their problem-solving and comprehension skills.
