Worksheet

Name the Bodies of Water

Can you tell the difference between a lake, an ocean, and a pond? Show your knowledge in this geography worksheet! Students will look at five pictures of different bodies of water. They will use the words in the word bank to label each one. This worksheet includes a lake, an ocean, a pond, a river, and a waterfall.

Use this resource to help second and third graders solidify their knowledge of the different bodies of water. As students learn the names of these physical features, they can begin to identify and differentiate the bodies of water on maps and in writing. They can also learn to accurately describe the natural world around them.

Try the paired landforms worksheet here: Name the Landforms. Want to learn about each body of water? Try Bodies of Water: Matching.
