Novel Study: Wonder: Character Tracker

As students read R.J. Palacio’s Wonder, encourage critical thinking and comprehension by asking them to track and analyze the book's characters. As readers are introduced to new characters, they will use the graphic organizer to record a few words that describe their appearance, personality, and character development throughout the book. This two-page worksheet includes rows for 10 of the novel's key players, as well as a handful of blank rows where students can jot notes about additional characters they meet along the way.

This reading activity will help learners draw connections between the different characters and how they relate to the main character, August, as well as explore how they each evolve throughout the story.
