Novel Study: Wonder: Movie Guide

After students read R.J. Palacio’s novel Wonder, have them watch the film adaptation of the movie to compare and contrast the written and film versions of the story! This two-page worksheet features a graphic organizer for students to complete as they watch the film adaptation, taking note of the similarities and differences between the two versions, as well as how their experience differed between reading the book and watching the movie. Then, on page 2, students will use their notes to answer five short-answer questions comparing their overall experiences reading the novel and watching the film, exploring what they might have done differently as the director, and determining which version they would suggest someone else read or watch first.
