Personal Narrative Writing: A Special Place

Write about a place that is special to you with this worksheet for first and second graders! Students will describe their special place by answering what they are doing, how they feel, who they are there with, and why the place is special. Once students have responded to each prompt, they are prompted to check their work for proper capitalization, punctuation, and spacing.

Narrative writing helps students recall events from their lives and encourages them to see the value in their personal experiences. By writing about things they are familiar with, students can also practice their spelling, grammar, and adding detail by answering the 5 W’s.
