Poetry Writing: Cinquain Poem

Get creative with this charming poetry worksheet! A brief introduction tells students what each line of a didactic cinquain poem should contain. Learners will fill in the blanks to complete a cinquain poem about a kitten. Then, they will write their own cinquain poem from scratch, making sure that each line has the correct number of words and that they use the correct parts of speech.

This worksheet for third and fourth graders is a great way to introduce students to an approachable type of poem they can write on their own. Learners can also build on their understanding of the different parts of speech as they come up with words for each line of the poem.
