Point of View Writing Practice: Bug Journal

Get ready to think small in this charming little worksheet! Students will choose a bug to be the narrator for their journal. They’ll need to fill out each section of the graphic organizer, describing their buggy character, the setting the character lives in, and their daily activities. Students will need to describe some conflicts or challenges their bug might encounter during the day. Finally, they’ll use the information in their graphic organizer to write their own journal entry on another sheet of paper.

This cheerful worksheet is a fantastic choice for getting third, fourth, and fifth graders interested in creative writing! Students will practice using the first-person point of view to describe characters, places, and series of events. They can also work on using narrative techniques and creative language in their story!
