Prepositions: Nature Walk

Take a stroll through a nature preserve in this helpful grammar worksheet! To start, students will review the definition of a preposition. Then, using the word bank of common prepositions, learners will identify the preposition in each of 12 nature-themed sentences. In addition, students must write whether the preposition tells about place, time, or movement.

This worksheet will help fifth graders understand why and how prepositions are used. As they become more familiar with this part of speech, students can incorporate them into their own writing to add detail and vary their sentence structure. Using prepositions can allow writers to be clearer and more effective communicators.
