R-Controlled Vowels

R-controlled vowels can be tricky, but they provide a great way to help kids expand their phonics skills! Teach your beginning reader to hear how the "r" after a vowel will change the vowel sound slightly. This exercise also helps with spelling and vocabulary skills.
