Reflective Writing Prompt: Lunar New Year

Celebrate Lunar New Year by gaining new knowledge and thinking about new beginnings! In this writing prompt worksheet, students will read about what Lunar New Year is and how people celebrate it. Then, they will be asked to write about how their own family celebrates a new year and what a “new beginning” looks like in their eyes. 

Designed for fourth through eighth graders, this worksheet is a great way to teach students more about one of the world’s major holidays, broadening their sociocultural understanding. Students will also take time to reflect on their own lives while they practice important writing skills.
