Rhyme Time: Fall Leaves

Have a ball this fall by identifying rhyming words! Each leaf contains two words. Students will read both words and determine if they rhyme. If the words are a rhyming pair, learners are asked to color in the leaf. 

Designed for a first- and second-grade curriculum, this worksheet will encourage students to listen for the ending sounds of different words. Isolating and recognizing ending sounds will build phonological awareness in young readers, allowing them to break apart longer or unfamiliar words with confidence. Learners will also notice that even though words may end with the same letters, they might not sound the same!
