Rhyme Time! Write the Room

Get moving and grooving with this fun activity all about rhyming words! To prepare for the activity, an adult will post the clue cards on page 2 around the room. Then, learners will walk around and explore the room to find the clue cards! Students will find the word in their room that rhymes with each picture, making sure to write the rhyming word on the line. 

This interactive activity is a great way to get kindergarteners and first-graders engaged with rhyming words. Rhyming can help build pattern recognition, which makes reading and writing easier for young learners. Rhymes can also help students think about and recognize ending sounds, building phonological awareness.
