Roll and Reflect: End of the Year

Reflect on the school year with these thoughtful discussion prompts for third, fourth, and fifth graders! In this activity, students are asked to roll two dice and find the square on the grid where the two numbers meet. Learners will then read the prompt and discuss their answer. Prompts will ask students to reflect on the past year, set goals for the next year, give advice, and more.

By discussing prompts in small groups, students build self-awareness, empathy, and a sense of classroom community, making reflection meaningful and engaging. These social-emotional skills are important for upper elementary students to develop, as it helps them grow into well-rounded, mindful, and introspective individuals.

Celebrate the end of the school year with Last Week of School Bingo, or keep growing students’ social-emotional awareness with Reflection Prompt: Acts of Kindness.
