Roll and Write: CVC Words

Get on a roll with your CVC word skills in this engaging worksheet! Students will need to roll a die, find the corresponding picture, then write the CVC word. They’ll keep rolling until they’ve written all six words. Then, students will be asked to write their own sentence with one of the words. 

This activity was designed to give first graders a fun way to practice spelling CVC words. Mastery of CVC words is vital for students as they build foundational reading skills. The ability to read and spell these words can support students as they start to encounter more complex words.
