Worksheet

Roll, Read, Color: AR and OR

Start practicing with more r-controlled vowel words in this engaging activity! Learners will be asked to roll a die, then read the five words in the corresponding column. They’ll color in one of those words, then reroll the die and keep going until they have colored in all 30 of the words! Common ar and or words like mark and north are included in this worksheet.

Intended for first and second graders, this worksheet is a great choice for improving students’ phonics skills. Learners can get more confident reading words with ar and or r-controlled vowels. This skill can help young readers notice patterns in spelling and decode words they aren’t familiar with.

Keep practicing with r-controlled vowels in Roll, Read, Color: IR, UR, ER, The Floor Is Lava! Bossy R Words and Tic-Tac-Toe: Bossy R.
