Roll, Read, Color: IR, UR, ER

Get to know your bossy r words with this helpful reading worksheet! Students will roll a die and read all of the words in the corresponding column. They’ll color in one of the words in that column, then roll again! They’ll continue until all 30 words have been colored in. This worksheet includes common words such as bird, ever, and hurt. 

This worksheet was designed for first and second graders working on their phonics skills. Students can improve their familiarity with r-controlled vowels and notice patterns in how the vowels in these ir, er, and ur words are all pronounced the same.
