Worksheet

Search for Sounds: Alliteration

Search sentences for similar sounds with this fourth- and fifth-grade alliteration worksheet! In part one, students will underline the words that create alliteration, then write the total number of words that start with the same sound. In the second part of the worksheet, learners must write two sentences that use alliteration.

This resource will reinforce what alliteration is and how it creates rhythm in writing. There are many types of figurative language and sound devices that can make a text more engaging and compelling—as students become familiar with them, they can use these devices in their own writing to add detail and craft a unique voice.

For an additional alliteration activity, check out Alliteration Practice: Naming Pizza Pies. Students can also try Hyperbole Detective! for more figurative language practice.
