Seasonal Poetry: April's Trick
Don’t be fooled by this silly April Fools’ Day poem! In this worksheet, students will read a short poem about an April Fools’ Day trick. They’ll answer a series of multiple choice questions about the content of the poem, practice their rhyming skills, and fill in the blanks to create their own holiday poem.
Use this second- and third-grade worksheet to celebrate April Fools’ Day while also supporting students’ poetry-reading skills. Learners can practice answering comprehension questions based on a poem and use their creativity as they try writing their own rhyming poem.
