Semicolons: Connecting Independent Clauses #2

Semicolons link two related independent clauses together; learn to use them correctly with this middle-grade worksheet! Students are given eight independent clauses, each of which pairs with another independent clause in an answer bank. Writers will pair two related clauses together and combine them using a semicolon. 

This worksheet will help middle school writers understand how semicolons can be used. By learning to combine independent clauses, students can create more advanced and varied sentence structures to strengthen their writing.
