Semicolons: Separating Complex Lists #3

Practice using semicolons to clarify complex lists with this worksheet! Learners will read five sentences, each of which contains a complex list. Students are asked to separate the complex list with semicolons, making sure to use a caret to show where each semicolon was placed. Students are then prompted to write their own sentence that includes a list with semicolons.

Designed for a middle-grade curriculum, this worksheet will familiarize learners with using semicolons in advanced sentence structures. These punctuation skills can help improve the clarity and organization of students’ writing, allowing for more effective communication both inside and outside of the classroom.

Be sure to complete the other two worksheets in this series, Semicolons: Separating Complex Lists #1 and Semicolons: Separating Complex Lists #2. For more practice, try Semicolons: Connecting Independent Clauses #1.
