Worksheet
Sentence Modeling #2
Learn to write like your favorite authors in this creative writing exercise for fourth and fifth graders! Students will read five quotes from famous novels such as Charlotte’s Web and A Wrinkle in Time. They’ll use the sentence structure from the quote to write their own sentence about a given topic.
This worksheet is perfect for budding creative writers and learners working on their sentence variety skills. Students can learn how to analyze the sentence structure in books they like, then apply it to their own writing to make stronger, more interesting sentences. This exercise is also useful as part of a writing unit on revising and editing.
