Shape Town: Rectangles

Recognize rectangles as you race through Shape Town! Preschoolers and kindergarteners will begin by tracing and drawing large and small rectangles. Then, students must use rectangles to add doors to houses and to finish a picture of a pencil. Lastly, learners will study the Shape Town scene and color in each rectangle.

This activity will guide early learners in identifying and drawing rectangles. Shape identification lays the groundwork for geometry and encourages students to see basic shapes in the world around them. Learners will also develop their fine motor skills as they trace, draw, and color each rectangle.
