Worksheet

Sort Objects by Temperature

Determine whether items are hot or cold in this cut-and-paste activity! Students will be introduced to temperature as being hot, like a fire, or cold, like an ice cube. Learners are then asked to sort 10 different objects by whether they are hot or cold.

Objects can be classified by many properties, one of which is temperature. Identifying items by whether they are hot or cold will give kindergarteners and first graders practice classifying objects by a single property. This will provide background knowledge as students begin more complex classifications and find common properties among multiple objects.

Continue identifying properties of items with Light and Objects #1 and Classify Objects.
