Color your way to mastery of three different syllable types in this playful worksheet! Learners can first read descriptions of vowel team syllables, r-controlled syllables, and silent e syllables. Then, they will color in 25 boxes based on the types of syllables they see in each word. However, some words have more than one type of syllable, so they’ll need to be careful! 

This worksheet was designed for second and third graders learning how to break down words and identify different types of syllables. This activity can help students correctly read vowel sounds and use syllable types to help them decode unfamiliar words.
