Summertime Word Categories

Make a splash in this summery sorting activity! Students will read 16 words and sort each one into one of four categories, such as summer activities and homophones. They’ll need to make sure each word only appears once in each category—so words that could fit more than one category can only fill one blank! 

This resource was designed to get fourth and fifth graders exercising their logical reasoning and problem-solving skills in a fun, yet challenging puzzle. Students will have to use their knowledge of vocabulary and their pattern recognition to determine which words go together.
