Syllable Read and Match #1

Combine syllables together to make words in this fun matching worksheet! Students will be given a column of first syllables and a column of second syllables. They will find syllable pairs that make new two-syllable words. Then, they’ll choose one of the words they created to use in their own sentence! 

Designed for first and second graders, this worksheet is a great choice for helping young readers understand what a syllable is and how they come together to form words. A strong foundation in syllable skills can improve students’ ability to decode and spell longer words.
