Worksheet

Syllable Read and Match #3

Construct multisyllabic words with syllable building blocks in this engaging worksheet! First, learners will be asked to match syllables to make two- and three-syllable words. Then, they can choose one of the words they created to write a sentence of their own.

Designed for first and second graders, this worksheet is a good choice for reinforcing the idea of syllables in young readers’ minds. The ability to divide words into syllables is foundational for reading fluency and decoding. Students with an understanding of syllables can become stronger readers and spellers.
