Worksheet
Syllable Sort: Cut and Paste #2
Can you count the syllables in the word caterpillar? What about cupcake? In this hands-on worksheet, kindergarteners and first graders will practice counting syllables for a variety of words. Students will cut out the images at the bottom of the page and determine what word each one represents. Then, young readers will count the syllables in the word and paste it into the correct column.
This cut-and-paste activity is a great way to keep students engaged as they learn about syllables. Every word is made of syllables, and breaking apart a word into individual syllables can help build reading and writing skills.
