Worksheet

The Two Sounds of ow

The letters ow make different sounds in different words, like low and cow. Practice telling the difference with this fun phonics worksheet! In the first section, learners will be given a list of ow words that they’ll have to sort by which ow sound each word makes. In the second section, they will be asked to read two sentences, circle all of the ow words, and then draw a picture to represent each sentence.

This worksheet is perfect for first and second graders learning about diphthongs and more complex vowel sounds. Learners will practice reading familiar words and recognizing patterns and consistent sounds. These skills are foundational for both reading and spelling!
