Trading Across Communities

Build a trade network across four unique communities with this worksheet for second and third graders! To begin, students will review the goods that Farm Town, Crab Cove, Pine Peak, and Sunville have available. Then, learners will read each scenario and determine which community would be the best trading partner.

This resource deepens students’ understanding of communities, resources, and trade. In real life, individuals, communities, states, and countries will share resources and trade with one another to ensure everyone’s needs are met! These concepts will support students as they explore supply and demand and learn about the roles of producers and consumers.
