Understanding Feelings

If you’re happy and you know it, draw a happy face! Kindergarteners explore four common emotions with this social-emotional learning (SEL) worksheet

Learners label each of four blank faces with an emotion from the word bank. The emotions are sad, happy, scared, and angry. Then, students draw an expression on the face paired with the label, so the emotion and the facial expression match.

This vocabulary-building SEL activity encourages children to reflect on the many ways a face can express an emotion. It also helps them understand their own—and others'—feelings. Use the How Are You Feeling? set to help students explore other emotions.
